Rights and License

1. License

  All articles published in the Journal are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. (CC BY 4.0)

2. Author’s Warranties

The author warrants that the article is original, written by the stated author(s), has not been published before, contains no unlawful statements, does not infringe the rights of others, is subject to copyright that is vested exclusively in the author and free of any third-party rights, and that any necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained by the author(s).

 

3. User Rights

ESA disseminates articles published as free as possible under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.

4. Rights of Authors

Authors retain the following rights:

  • Copyright, and other proprietary rights relating to the article, such as patent rights

  • The right to use the substance of the article in own future works, including lectures and books

  • The right to reproduce the article for own purposes

  • The right to self-archive the article

  • the right to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the article's published version (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in ESA.

5. ​Co-Authorship

If other authors jointly prepared the article, the Corresponding author of the paper warrants that all co-authors have authorized him/her.

​6. Royalties

This agreement entitles the author to no royalties or other fees. To such extent as legally permissible, the author waives his or her right to collect royalties relative to the article in respect of any use of the article by the Journal or its sublicensee.

7. Final Publication

ESA will publish the article (or have it published) if the article’s editorial process is successfully completed. ESA may conform the article to a style of punctuation, spelling, capitalization, referencing, and usage that it deems appropriate for the publication. The author acknowledges that the article may be published so that it will be publicly accessible and such access will be free of charge for the readers.

8. ESA Members

ESA members are the backbone of the journal. All the eminent personalities on positions under Environmental Science Archives including Managing Editors (Regional and Local), Editorial Board Members and Advisory Board Members are considered as ESA members. All these positions are Honorary and Voluntary in nature. Environmental Science Archives has no financial liabilities for these honorary posts.

 

Managing Editors (local and regional) are supposed to work for the journal in every sense to grow it extensively. They are supposed to invite papers on behalf of the journal which will be reviewed by Editorial Board Members. The final decision will lie with the Editor in Chief.

Editorial Board Members are the key personalities responsible for the quality of the papers published in ESA. After an initial review by EIC and plagcheck by the ESA office, the paper will be sent to the EBMs for a review. They are supposed to send the comments within the stipulated time period. 

​

Advisory Board Members are the key personalities responsible for the quality of the journal. They may send suggestions for the betterment of the journal.

​

9. Certification

All the positions under Environmental Science Archives including Managing Editors (Regional and Local), Editorial Board Members and Advisory Board Members are initially for 2 years (1 year for Regional Managing Editors). Official certificate to Managing Editors and Advisory Board Members will be issued only after active and successful completion of 1 or 2 years, whichever is applicable. An official certificate to Editorial Board Members will be issued only after successful completion of 2 years with at least 2 reviewer assignments. Every EB member is requested to submit at least 1 paper to the journal in an year. The EB member should be active in the group and should participate as per the requirements of the journal. In extreme conditions, an ESA member can be removed by EIC from the journal anytime without prior notice, if the member is not found suitable or is not participating actively.
