FOCUS OF THE COLLECTION

The seminar “Green Energy Resources: Clean Environment in India” focuses on accelerating the adoption of renewable energy to combat pollution and foster a sustainable ecosystem. It emphasizes transitioning from coal and oil to renewables such as solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, and emerging green hydrogen technologies. India’s ambitious targets include achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, generating 50% of electricity from renewables, and attaining net-zero emissions by 2070, as pledged in international commitments. Notable progress encompasses over 90 GW of installed solar capacity, robust wind energy expansion, and enabling policies that attract investments and enhance domestic manufacturing.

Key benefits include reduced emissions, improved air quality, enhanced climate resilience, and reliable energy security for a burgeoning population. The seminar also examines challenges such as infrastructure development, cost barriers, and technology integration, while highlighting opportunities for job creation and inclusive growth. It promotes dialogue among policymakers, experts, and stakeholders to expedite India’s transition to a greener future.
